For those unaware, Pepperdine sits in Malibu, California. Just northwest of Los Angeles, it's pretty prime real estate. |

The last of those is where that shooting happened at a nightclub, killing 13. In cluded in that number was a Pepperdine freshman. |

For those unaware, the fire has raged through much of the area surrounding Malibu since Thursday night, forcing evacuations for many. |

I spent Friday night sleeping the library with five of my closest friends, hoping that when we woke up, our homes would have lived. |

Though campus has been lucky - only a maintenance shack burned, we've still closed through the Thanksgiving holiday. |

Because every canyon road and the PCH are all blocked, there's no way for many to access campus. |

In addition, there's an even larger number of students and faculty whose homes may or may not be standing at this point. |
